Ireland Coach Joe Schmidt to speak at City of Armagh RFC Fundraiser.

City of Armagh RFC is pleased to announce that Joe Schmidt will be the keynote speaker at their corporate fundraising dinner on Thursday July 20th. The club will shortly be announcing plans for their new clubhouse and grounds development and this event marks the commencement of a major fund-raising drive at the club.

Other sporting stars attending the event include Tommy Bowe, Fiona Coghlan and Darragh O Sé.

M.C for the evening is the popular Adrian Logan.

Tommy Bowe needs no introduction, the Monaghan native having attended The Royal School in Armagh and has close links with the local club. The Irish International has 69 caps for Ireland and was selected for both British and Irish Lions tours in 2009 and 2013.

Fiona Coghlan has played 85 times for the Ireland Women’s rugby team and was captain of the successful 6 Nations winning team in 2013. Her team made history in 2014 when they defeated the All Blacks at the Women’s World Cup in 2014.

Darragh O Sé played in 81 championship matches for Kerry, a GAA record and is regarded as one of the greatest mid-fielders of all time. He has six All Ireland title medals and retired from the game in 2010.

The event at the Palace grounds is taking place in a giant marquee in the club carpark and catering will be by the Yellow Door. Dress code is smart casual.

Local businesses are being encouraged to support the event after work with the drinks reception commencing at 5.30pm along with photograph opportunities with the various speakers. Joe Schmidt will be then interviewed by M.C. Adrian Logan and following the dinner, the other sporting stars will take to the stage. An auction of sporting memorabilia and other items will round off the evening.
